The first weekend in March saw the second ‘Gathering of WellBeing’ which Robin and partner Rob were on the inaugural organising committee the year prior. This year was a wonderful success with nearly 100 people in attendance. Workshops, Ceremony, Affinity Groups, Dance, Song, Cabaret and immersion in a wild nature place all contributed to a wonderful deep and enriching weekend. Robin was an Affinity group leader for the weekend and also ran a workshop entitled ‘Journey to the Heart of Community’. In her workshop, for the finale, participants walked a Spiral Labyrinth to transform anything getting in the way of being in one’s heart to live and be more fully in the heart of community.
Read More »Women’s PDC (Permaculture Design Course) in October
After a very successful ‘Women’s PDC’, for women and presented by women, in November last year, Annaliese Hordern and the Ground Permaculture crew are putting on another Women’s PDC in October this year. The course last year was in honour of and celebrating that is was 40 years since the first ever PDC, which Robin was a participant in. To support the course robin did seven sessions as a special guest, two of which were tours of Crystal Waters and of her garden. She’ll be a special guest again this October. Read More »Wronka and Family Visit
Robin and Wronka met nearly 30 years ago when Wronka applied to study Pedagogy for three months with Robin and Skye at Crystal Waters as part of her University studies. She come from Germany and participated and helped with the ‘Advanced Permaculture Creative Teachers Facilitation Course’ and the Permaculture Courses that they were running. In 1998 she returned the favour and hosted Robin and Skye in North Germany and organized the Creative Facilitators course for them to offer there, as well as touring them all around the Permaculture places in North Germany, including all kinds of wonderful inner Urban communities and gardens in Berlin. More recently she attended Robin’s ‘Wise Women’s Weekend Retreat’ way up in the mountains in Switzerland as a birthday present to herself. She then drove Robin and helper Kym Chi to her home in a little electric car to the Lakes area and hosted them both …

The annual Being Woman… gathering is fast approaching with a juicy theme this year – Nurturing Your True Nature…..Stepping into our Woman’s Way and the workshops will be centred around this theme. It’s now possible to watch snippets of the Main Presentations at the International Permaculture Conference in Hyderabad, India late last year. One of the sub themes was ‘Women as Agents of Change’ so Robin initiated and was then invited to led a panel of Women in Permaculture, especially emphasising Social Permaculture. She asked the question “Are Women Leading the Change?” and “What areas of change are you active and successful in and what qualities do you feel support this?” Women joining Robin on the panel included Vandana Shiva, Starhawk, Rowe Morrow, Robina McCurdy, Padma Koppula and several others.
