Exciting Offer for February ‘Dynamic Groups, Dynamic Learning’ Course

Several places have become available in Robin’s next ‘Dynamic Groups, Dynamic Learning’ six day Creative Facilitation, Teacher Training and Group Leadership course.

People booked into three of the four available special cost price/scholarship places have cancelled or postponed for various reasons and a further two have deferred to a future time.

There are still the numbers for the course to proceed so Robin is offering three more places for the cost price of $500 which includes all meals for 6 1/2 days. Accommodation in the EcoPark at Crystal Waters for the camping option is only $10 per night so this makes it a really affordable opportunity. A bed in the bunkhouse is $22.50.

Some help and contribution, trade or donation would be most welcome as part of the exchange. For example, Robin is needing one person to come a couple of days early to help in the set up for the course and in packing away all her many books and resources which she makes available for participants.

Additionally, anyone who’s done the ‘Dynamic Groups, Dynamic Learning’ course in the past or the Cert. IV in Training and Assessment that Robin used to offer is invited to attend this course for the cost price. This would act as a refresher, add additional learning and momentum and increase the group energy and dynamic that comes with participation.

Crystal Waters Permaculture Village – 30 Years On

A new documentary celebrating the past, present and future of Crystal Waters is just being released. It is possibly the most extensive exploration of an ecovillage in a documentary yet produced… I’d love to hear of other examples.

In 2018, Crystal Waters, a world-first permaculture settlement and wildlife sanctuary, is now 30 years old – located near Maleny, South East Queensland. Given a UN Habitat Award in 1996, Crystal Waters is known worldwide for its permaculture related educational courses. Community members run monthly markets, bakery and cafes, bamboo and timber plantations, a fire brigade, cinema, even a cemetery. A visitor park offers cabins, caravan sites and tent sites. Over 100 dwellings and community buildings showcase diverse building methods – rammed earth, mud brick, straw bale and pole construction.

The flow of the program entwines history and present views in a colourful and engaging manner. It may not answer all your questions – or go to the depths of issues it brings to light but certainly provides an entertaining overview.

Some highlights are Robin Clayfield and Bob Sample discussing how… “We’re still in our infancy,” says Robin, “but it is evolving…” says Bob. Amber, an early resident, says Crystal Waters is “…gentle, female and nurturing”. Luciano Giangiordano says, “What Crystal Waters has achieved in 30 years has been phenomenal”. Jane Brouet and Gaby Gottselig in conversation lead us to Robin Harpley and Sandra Ferguson explaining the activities of the Body Corporate and the Community Co-op. Po Mei who helped organise the Wellness Festivals says… “We are on a journey”.

The 90 minute documentary, along with extensive video and text extras which will appear on social media channels covers a lot of fertile ground. here are the chapters:
1. Welcome
2. Grounding the Vision
3. Growing Pains
– Earthcare Farm
– The Fire Brigade
4. The Dream Takes Root
– The EcoPark
– Restoration
– The Cemetery
5. Educational Aspirations
6. Spirit of Community
– Coop & Body Corp
– The Bakery
– The Spindleshop
– The Dairy
– Flowerpot Coffee Shop
7. Soul Food and The Arts
8. Human Habitat
9. Embracing the Future
– The Markets
– End Credits

Social Permaculture Course in May to Support People and Groups to Thrive

Did you know you can design harmonious and effective groups who thrive towards their aims and purpose as a collective? Yep, it’s called Social Permaculture. And this is what Permaculture pioneer Robin Clayfield and social change-agent Erin Young are brewing for the SOCIAL PERMACULTURE WEEKEND on 18 & 19 May at Crystal Waters Permaculture EcoVillage, near Maleny in South East Queensland.

This unique weekend is a rare opportunity to be guided in developing your social design fluency by applying the nature-based principles of permaculture. Using interactive and dynamic experiences, Robin and Erin will share with you insights to regenerative people systems and approaches contributing to happy and healthy humans on the levels of the individual, organisational, and societal.

Various angles of effective social design will be covered, including group ecology, community governance and decision-making, group effectiveness, social space retrofits and confidence in acting for change.

This course is for those working in group situations – workshop leaders, community organisers, workplace managers, small business leaders, and those living or designing intentional community, co-housing and ecovillages. It also very much applies to individuals wishing to design their lives, and support the lives of those in their families, to thrive with patterns of wellbeing inspired by nature.

Robin and Erin are professionals in the social design field with decades of experience between them. They love to share their skills and wisdom to activate effective people. It’s all part of their mission to save the world by helping humans and groups thrive.

This is an affordable course in a beautiful venue with talented facilitators to develop your social design skills for happier and healthier groups. Win, win, win!

Beautiful Labyrinth and Ceremonies at Woodford Folk Festival

Once again the Sacred Union Labyrinth at Woodford Folk Festival was magnificent and loved and appreciated by thousands of people over the 6 day festival.

Robin and her troupe of 14 instillation artists, 7 Ceremony holders, 8 musicians and performers plus 2 sound technicians and 2 stage managers provided by the festival created the best ever Labyrinth and surrounds, enhanced by powerfully held, exquisite ceremonies with delightful music by The Sacred Union Labyrinth Band.

Other performances and acts graced the space and featured Andy Copeman and his MedicineManMusic, Heather Price and her Healing with the Drum Journeys, Malcolm Fielding’s minstrelling and Rob Clark as Djuelu the Village Scribe, capturing words of wisdom and essence for participants of the Ceremonies.

Here’s the link to our FaaceBook page if you’d like to like us and see what we’re up to.

‘Being Woman…’ Gathering in March. A Unique Opportunity for Women.

The annual Being Woman… gathering is fast approaching with a juicy theme this year –  Nurturing Your True Nature…..Stepping into our Woman’s Way and the workshops will be centred around this theme.

This year’s gathering again offers a wonderful range of facilitators and workshops for you to discover and explore the divine feminine source inside you in a way that enhances your self-awareness, relationships and life purpose.

There will also be sacred ceremonies to open and close the gathering as well as entertainment on Saturday and Sunday nights. ‘Groundwork’ has been developed out of the Art of Hosting framework (aka Art of Participatory Leadership), and specifically focusses on collaboration.

These trainings are being offered in both Brisbane and Canberra in February. These trainings would be fantastic support to Permaculture trainers and organisers, for Permaculture Co-Lab, and any permie projects as well as NVC practitioners and anyone working with community groups and facilitation.

Early bird closes today Fri 11 January. There are some scholarships, and discounts for 3 or more people coming as a group or from an organisation. Fees are negotiable for people who really want to come and learn to apply these trainings, but who cant afford to pay. Visit the website here.
