Co-created Workshops with other Facilitators

Dates are 10th and 11th November. It is an exciting time of growing momentum for Social Permaculture around the world, so this is sure to be a special and potent weekend workshop to attend. Participants will experience a unique combination of Robin’s extensive and established experience and wisdom as a permaculture pioneer and respected elder. I bring a whole-systems patterns-to-details approach of organisational governance and eco-social literacy supporting groups to be effective, transparent and equivalent. This all combines within the Dynamic Groups methodology to create a fun and experiential learning space. Here’s a couple of photos of the Social Permaculture weekend led by Robina McCurdy and Robin and hosted by Samantha Hawker and Frank near Canberra after the APC (Australasian Permaculture Convergence) in April. Participants got a lot out of the workshop and went home with much inspiration and many tools for applying to their local groups and course environments.

Robin will be amongst the presenters for the Sustainable Living Guide’s Global Summit from 21st to 24th of this month. Robin’s 30 minute audio presentation is a Q&A interview by the Guides’ creator Lisa Pavati and focuses on Social Permaculture and Robin’s life journey with Permaculture, groups, education and empowerment. Robin will then be offering nine presentations and workshops as part of the Sustainable Living Guides’ program over months to come. It is envisioned that they will be offered regularly and will have a project based outcome to integrate all the learnings towards the end of the nine sessions. Hey, Check out these cool ideas at Samantha and Franks home at AWOL (Another Way Of Living) at Wamboin near Canberra which is part of the Southern Harvest Association. Southern Harvest is an educational and marketing non-profit, incorporated, local food association at the forefront of supporting and promoting local and regional food production and consumption in South East NSW and ACT.  Sam and Frank organised, hosted and participated in as well as cooked for the Social Permaculture Course Robin Clayfield and Robina McCurdy did at their property in April.  The course was their first ever at the new venue that they have created in their home and all went very well. Wow! The group at Gaiacraft, an amazing collective of younger, very experienced and motivated Permaculture educators and creatives have spent many. many hours over the last 18 months documenting, filming, writing, editing and distributing some video interviews and crafted magazine articles that grew out of their participation in several courses in the UK in 2015. Robin’s ‘Dynamic Groups’ course and the Social Permaculture course she facilitated with Starhawk, Robina, Looby and Peter were a big part of this. They have been focusing on several Women Pioneers of Social Permaculture and supporting them and the work of Social Permaculture to have more presence in the world. There’s been links to the videos featuring Robin in previous posts and e-newsletters. Now the wonderfully written articles are beginning to appear. It’s almost time for the 31st Woodford Folk Festival in SE Qld which takes place over the Christmas/New Year period. Robin and her team are busy harvesting bamboo, making giant sculptured petals, collecting resources, materials and objects from nature and generally preparing to create and construct ‘The Sacred Union Labyrinth’ for the fourth year running. The Labyrinth has become an integral and much loved destination at the festival where people can walk it anytime or attend one of the four Ceremonies which feature a five piece band and a six person Ceremony team. Directly after each Ceremony ‘Djuelu the Village Scribe’ (Rob Clark) will be present to write meaningful words on parchment to commemorate people’s Labyrinth walk. At other times ‘Tinkerbell’ will provide music to walk to and there will most likely be some Pop Up chiors. Come join the fun, delight and sacred adventure.   Times for the Ceremonies …
